Kaysville Fire Department

The Kaysville Fire Department is located at 175 South Main Street in Kaysville, Utah. The Kaysville Fire Department is responsible for responding and handling all Medical, Fire, Rescue, and Hazardous Material situations in the cities of Kaysville and Fruit Heights.

The Kaysville Fire Department covers a population of nearly 30,000 people and responds to around 1,200 calls a year on average.

The Kaysville Fire Department currently employs thirty-one part-time firefighters that all have EMT or Paramedic certifications. Also on the staff is a full-time chief, a part-time deputy chief/fire marshal, and two part-time assistant chiefs

Mission Statement

Street Light Down

Tuesday, July 21, 2009:

This afternoon Kaysville Fire crews were alerted to a street light down with possible live wires at Crestwood Road and Main Street.  A diesel truck clipped the light bringing it down into the road.

Ambulance 61, Fire 601, and Kaysville Police officers responded, shutting down traffic momentarily while crews from the power company worked on removing the light.

Auto Pedestrian Accident on Highway 89

Thursday, July 16, 2009:

This evening Kaysville Fire crews were alerted to a Delta response Auto Pedestrian accident on Highway 89 near Nicholls Road.

Ambulance 61, Ambulance 62, Engine 61, and Fire 601 responded.  Life Flight was requested to the scene.  It appears a pedestrian was trying to cross the highway when they were hit by a large cargo van.  The pedestrian was transported by Life Flight in critical condition and the driver and passenger of the van were transported by Ambulance 61 for back pain.

Fully Involved Truck Fire

Wednesday, July 1, 2009:

Today Kaysville Fire crews were alerted to a fully involved vehicle fire on Sunset Drive.  Upon arrival it was discovered it was a shingle truck on fire.

The workers in the truck left the boom up while driving down the road which hit one powerline on the west side of the road and then another on the east side of the road where the truck came to a stop.

Amazingly no one was electricuted and both workers escaped from the truck.

Kaysville Fire responded to the call with Engine 61, Engine 62, Brush 61, Fire 601, and Fire 602.  Crews got a quick knock down on the fire which could be seen miles away, using both water and foam to attack the fire.

Vehicle Fire

Monday, June 29, 2009:

Today Kaysville Fire crews were alerted to a vehicle fire at the animal shelter in Fruit Heights.  Fire 602, Fire 604, and Engine 61 responded to the scene.

Upon arrival the vehicle was already extinguished.  Crews were back in service shortly after.
