Kaysville Fire Department

The Kaysville Fire Department is located at 175 South Main Street in Kaysville, Utah. The Kaysville Fire Department is responsible for responding and handling all Medical, Fire, Rescue, and Hazardous Material situations in the cities of Kaysville and Fruit Heights.

The Kaysville Fire Department covers a population of nearly 30,000 people and responds to around 1,200 calls a year on average.

The Kaysville Fire Department currently employs thirty-one part-time firefighters that all have EMT or Paramedic certifications. Also on the staff is a full-time chief, a part-time deputy chief/fire marshal, and two part-time assistant chiefs

AirMed Landing to Medical

Wednesday, August 12, 2009:

This evening Kaysville Fire crews were alerted to an Echo response medical for an infant that quit breathing.  Shortly after the original call came in he began breathing again. 

Ambulance 61 responded to the call and requested Engine 61 respond to set up a helicopter landing zone for AirMed which transported the child.  Crews cleared the scene within half an hour of responding.

Vehicle Fire

Friday, August 7, 2009:

Today Kaysville Fire Crews were alerted to a vehicle fire near the DATC.  Engine 61 responded to the call and was able to get a quick knock down on the fire which was located in the engine compartment of the vehicle.

Explosion in a Home

Thursday, August 6, 2009:

On Tuesday of this week, Kaysville Fire crews were alerted to an explosion in a home around 11:50.  Ambulance 61, Ambulance 62, Engine 61, Engine 62, and Fire 601 responded.

Painters were in the basement of the home painting with a lacquer.  Fumes from the lacquer ignited on the pilot light, causing an explosion that blew out windows and door frames.

One painter was left in critical condition with severe burns to his body.  Life Flight flew him to the University of Utah hospital burn unit.
