Monday, May 3, 2010:

This evening Kaysville Fire crews were requested as mutual-aid to a working house fire in Layton on Gentile Street.  Layton Fire crews responded with Ambulance 51, Ambulance 52, Ambulance 53, Medic Engine 51, Medic Engine 52, Truck 53, Battalion Chief 51, 501 and other various command units.  Kaysville responded with Ambulance 62, Engine 61 and Engine 62.

The home sustained a lot of damage but fortunately no injuries were reported.  The investigation as to why the fire started is still on going.  For more pictures visit the Photo Gallery or click here.

Wednesday, March 31, 2010:

This morning just after 08:00 hours Kaysville Fire crews were dispatched to a Delta response motor vehicle accident at Highway 89 and 400 North.  Ambulance 61, Ambulance 62, Ambulance 63, Heavy Rescue 61, 601 and 604 responded to find two vehicles had collided in the intersection leaving heavy damage to both vehicles involved.  Three patients were transported to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.

On Monday Ambulance 61, Heavy Rescue 61, and 601 responded to a single vehicle rollover on I-15 after the driver fell asleep at the wheel.  Crews had to extricate the victim due to heavy damage done to the vehicle.

Thursday, March 25, 2010:

This evening Ambulance 61 and Heavy Rescue 61 were paged out on an Alpha response motor vehicle accident at 1375 South Main Street, across from Cherry Hill.  Upon arrival Ambulance 62 was also requested to the scene.  A Subaru collided with a truck pulling a trailer.  Minor injuries were reported.

Thursday, March 25, 2010:

Yesterday afternoon Kaysville Fire crews were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street just south of Cherry Hill.  Crews arrived on scene to find the call was actually in Farmington's response area.  Ambulance 62, Heavy Rescue 61, and Fire 601 responded from Kaysville along with Ambulance 71, Engine 72 and Fire 701 from Farmington.

The accident was a t-bone collision leaving one of the drivers trapped inside her car so crews had to extricate her.  The extrication ended up being fairly difficult so the extra help from Farmington was appreciated.  The driver was left in critical condition and was flown by Life Flight to IMC.  From the time of arrival to the time the patient was flown was about 35 minutes.  She is expected to live.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010:

Yesterday around 10:00 hours Kaysville Fire crews were alerted to a structure fire with smoke showing from the roof.  Fire 601, Engine 61 and Medic Engine 52 from Layton were the first arriving crews.  Upon arrival heavy smoke was showing from the roof with fire in the attic.  Ambulance 61, Truck 61, Fire 501, Battalion Chief 51 and Fire 701 arrived minutes later.

After 45 minutes crews had the fire knocked down but it started back up again in the attic, causing more damage to the home.  Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal Dotson and Fire Marshal Hunt from Layton Fire are investigating the cause of the fire now.  It appears the fire started possibly from an electrical malfunction in the wash room of the home.

Crews were on scene till 14:40 hours.  Great job to everyone involved and thanks to Layton and Farmington for their help.
