Kaysville Fire Department

Saturday, April 11, 2009:

Tonight Kaysville Fire crews were paged out to a smoke alarm on Mutton Hollow Road at the women's shelter.  Ambulance 61 was the first responding crew on scene.  Shortly after arrival Ambulance 61 crew requested an engine response for smoke found in an apartment.

Minutes later Engine 61, Truck 61, and Assistant Chief Brad Lee arrived on scene (Assistant Chief Mike Eggington was already on scene, responding in Ambulance 61).

Engine 61 crew stretched an attack line to the apartment and shortly after started ventilation.  Crews cleared the scene around 21:00 hours.

Thursday, March 19, 2009:

This morning the fire department had three outstanding calls at one time. 

Ambulance 61 responded code Delta to a cardiac arrest in the McDonald's parking lot.  The patient was presumed dead at the scene.  Ambulance 62 responded on a Delta medical to a sick female shortly after.  Last, Engine 61 and Fire 601 responded to fire alarms. 

Wednesday, March 11, 2009:

This afternoon the Kaysville Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at Highway 89 and 200 North in Fruit Heights.  An SUV and a sedan collided sending both off of the roadway.

Kaysville Fire responded with Ambulance 61, Ambulance 62, Ambulance 63, Heavy Rescue 61, Engine 61, and Brush 63.  The driver of the SUV was critically injured and transported by AirMed to the hospital.  Engine 61 staged a landing zone for the helicopter off of Higway 89 in the UTA Park and Ride parking lot.

Two other patients were transported by ambulance to area hospitals.

Tuesday, March 10, 2009:

Today Kaysville Fire crews were busy for an hour or so around lunch time with two medicals at two different schools in Kaysville.

During the lunch break at Davis Junior High School one student started to pass out prescription drugs to other students.  Total nine students took the drugs and overdosed.  Two students were transported by ambulance to Primary Childrens Hospital in Salt Lake City.

Around the same time the Fire Department was also at a call at Windridge Elementary for a stroke patient.

Saturday, February 21, 2009:

On Friday, February 20 the Kaysville Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 89 near Crestwood Drive at around 22:30 hours.  A southbound truck hit a patch of ice sending it into the northbound lanes hitting another truck which then rolled over.  Both drivers received head and back injuries and a passenger of the first vehicle was flown to the University of Utah Hospital with head and internal injuries. 

The call was originally placed out for Layton but as a Sheriff Deputy was responding he reported the call being in Kaysville's response area.  The Kaysville Fire Department responded with Ambulance 61, Ambulance 62, Engine 61, and Heavy Rescue 61.  Layton crews responded with two ambulances, Truck 53, and Rescue Engine 52.  Layton Fire treated the victim that was air lifted and one other passenger.  Kaysville Fire treated one victim, put up scene lights, and secured one of the vehicles.  Engine 61 took the landing zone for the medical helicopter.

As crews were clearing the scene Kaysville got a call for a man in traffic having chest pains.  Ambulance 62 took that call and transported the patient.

Earlier in the day a couple was walking their dog when they were involved in a pedestrian motor vehicle accidnet.  Both people were transported to the hospital.  Their dog was hit and killed by a car.  This accident took place near 200 North and Fairfield Drive.
